Funi Reduces MSRP on Upcoming El Cazador de la Bruja Box

And another one, this time for a pre-order item!

Funimation has announced they have reduced the MSRP on the upcoming El Cazador de la Bruja Part #1 DVD Box (Item # FN-09870) from $59.98 to $49.98.

We have reduced our price accordingly from $44.98 to $36.98, and we will automatically be adjusting the price down for everyone who has already pre-order the box set.

Anyone else seeing a pattern here with these last few posts?

Perhaps Funi needs some non-Dragonball money, quick-fast??

Given the price change and the art I've seen online, this will probably be in a single keepcase right? As long as it gets out, I'll buy it.

What are your thoughts Robert on the single keepcase sets versus the thinpack cases in a thin cardboard box/sheaf deal? It seems the single keepcase is becoming the norm more and more. Is that to save money or has it been requested by retailers and/or fans?

I'm not sure at this point. They do not list the form factor on the sheets anymore. Personally, I like the Double Thin-Paks, but the keepcases are the absolute bottom of the barrel price wise, and it can save the studio 2 or 3% in replication and transportation costs (the lighter the cases are, the cheaper they are to ship in bulk). The migration to keepcases is just a response to the shifting desire of Anime customers to have these releases priced as cheaply as possible. With Anime DVD margins on the slippery slope, the studios have to squeeze out profits anywhere they can. The keepcases are a bit cheaper for us to ship too, and they take up less room in the warehouse, and space costs money like everything else.
