Ah, the Shakugan no Shana DVD/Blu-ray combo set is a must buy for me. I really enjoyed this one. It's always nice to get the "blu-ray treatment" for your favorite shows. :)

Sigh, they finally put out some new content, but most of it isn't on BluRay. I will not spend my money on anime on DVD anymore. It just isn't worth it. Give it to me on BluRay, or not at all. Looks like Freezing will be the only show I buy from Funimation in August.

Do you have any idea if Shana is an upscale? I can't imagine that it could HD native considering the age of that show. If it somehow is HD native, I'd strongly consider double dipping on that one, but definitely not for an upscale.

Not sure about Shana, they have not sent out the August sales book yet so the only info we have are SKU's and dates right now. I imagine it will be an upscale since they will probably just be using the source material from the previous release. Their limited number of BD releases going forward seems to be due to the Kadokawa issue that I discussed in the last newsletter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Shangri-La ever got a Blu-Ray release in Japan.
