I was honestly really disappointed in the packaging on this one. It's a BluRay/DVD combo pack, but you'd never know it since they went with purely DVD packaging (even the art box only lists the DVD logo). It's obvious that this packaging was designed before the decision to go with the combo pack. I wish that they had gone with standard BluRay size cases, that went inside a nice BluRay art box (think the Gunbuster movie BluRay set).

Now this one sits alongside my equally misshaped Wings of Honneamise BluRay box on my BluRay shelf looking completely out of place.

I suppose it's hard to complain considering we got a BluRay set period, but being a graphic designer myself, these things just really strike a cord with me.

We had expected the usual blue multi disk BD combo pack like other movies come in. I guess Funi has commited to their new 'limited edition' packaging and would have to change that to accomodate BD specific packaging. Would have cost more. Anyway, why make a change when you can get $5 extra for a .50 cent chipboard box?...

...wait, did I say that? Opps... I'm supposed to be toeing the company line. But screw that, I'm going to stop posting these videos if they keep telling everyone to go to Amazon to buy them. Thanks for the support Funi. Idiots.

Sigh...what the hell Funimation? I just received my Eden of the East King of Eden combo pack in the mail today, and just like Ga-Rei Zero, it's in a DVD case. I at least expected this one to ship in a BluRay case. How many BD/DVD combo pack movies do you see on the store shelves that aren't in BluRay packaging?

Seriously, if this is Funi's idea of how to treat combo packs, they can forget it. I don't want them. I'd rather they go back to releasing them separately. I realize it's easier for retailers to stock combo packs, but this is a slap in the face to their fans. Now my BluRay set of the Eden of the East series sits awkwardly next the movie, which comes in completely different packaging. It's a total mismatch.
