Bandai Announces September 2011 Releases - Now Available for Pre-Order!

Bandai has sent us over their September 2011 release schedule, and we now have them available on the store site for pre-order. Here's what's coming:

K-On! Vol #3 DVD - Sep 13
K-On! Vol #3 (BLURAY) - Sep 13
Mobile Suit Gundam Complete Collection 1 DVD Boxed Set (Anime Legends) - Sep 13
Girl Who Leapt Through Space Part #3 DVD - Sep 13
Melancholy of Haruhi: Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie DVD/BD Combo Pack - Sep 20
Melancholy of Haruhi: Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie DVD - Sep 20

Couple notes: It's nice to see original Gundam FINALLY get a Legends Release - this one is way overdue! Keep in mind that Bandai is releasing this schedule to retailers only about 6 weeks before the first releases are supposed to street, so there is a good chance some of these will be delayed later on. We've priced the Haruhi Movie BD/DVD combo version very low to encourage folks to order that version rather than the standard DVD release as we would rather not stock a lot of that version.

Do you think the packaging for the Haruhi Suzumiya DVD/Blu Ray combo will be DVD-sized or blu ray-sized? Either way, it's about time.

The mailer did not say, however, the new Gundam 00 Trailblazer DVD/BD set (which is the first one they've done) is in regular DVD packaging, so I imagine that will be the SOP format for these going forward. Why do Anime companies hate BD packaging for combo sets?!

So that our physical Anime library looks more even?

While a benefit, I doubt that's being given any consideration in the matter. But I'm sure the phrase 'cheapest option' gets heard often in those little backdoor management meetings when these things are considered. -_^

Ah, finally a "good" release for the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. We finally get a release with both Japanese and English audio tracks. I'm definitely adding this to my collection when it comes out. :)
