Rurouni Kenshin Complete TV DVD Box (Eps #1-95) - Back in Stock at Last!

After being sold out since last fall, we FINALLY got a small shipment of the complete Rurouni Kenshin TV Series DVD sets in from Media Blasters today.

This is the BIG 22 DVD set that has all 3 TV season boxes inside it's own paper box sleeve. It covers all 95 episodes of the Kenshin TV series.

We only got a small shipment of these, and who knows when (or if) we'll get anymore, so get em while they last!

Just an FYI folks, we've got the the First Pressing of the Sacred Blacksmith Complete Collection DVD Boxed Set (Eps #1-12) in from Funimation that includes the limited edition art box. Pre-orders are being processed as we speak.

The limited edition is only for the first pressing, so they are not going to make anymore after this. This one comes with a 32-page art book, a special edition pinup poster, and a collectors art box.

Just an FYI folks, we've got the the First Pressing of the Phantom Part 1 Collection in from Funimation that includes the limited edition art box. Pre-orders are already on the way to you.

The limited edition is only for the first pressing, so they are not going to make anymore after this. It comes with a chipboard art box, a special edition bullet necklace, and is designed to hold the DVD volumes of both parts 1 and 2.

Oh, and we have the part #2 set in stock too, so you can buy the whole series all together. :-)

Ah My Buddha - Back in Stock at Last!

Great news everyone!

After being out of stock and on backorder for nearly 6 months, the Ah My Buddha (Amaenaideyo!!) Complete Collection DVD Boxed Set (Eps #1-26) is now officially back in stock as of this morning!

All standing backorders from all the way back to July last year will be filled today, and we have plenty of copies left over for general orders, so if you have been wanting a copy - we've got em!

Black Butler Collection 1 Limited Edition - In Stock and Shipping Now!

Just and FYI folks, we've got the the First Pressing of the Black Butler Part 1 Collection in from Funimation that includes the limited edition art box. Pre-orders are already on the way to you.

The limited edition is only for the first pressing, so they are not going to make anymore after this. It comes with a chipboard box embossed with silver foil accents designed to replicate the original Japanese packaging and is designed to hold the DVD volumes of both parts 1 and 2.

Dragon Destiny 3 In Stock / DD Boxed Set Delayed

I have good news and bad news to report this morning!

First, the Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny #3 DVD that has been delayed so many times in the past few months has arrived and is now IN STOCK and SHIPPING! We have plenty of copies everyone, so come and get them. YEAH!!!!!

On the heals of the arrival of Vol #3, Media Blasters informed us this morning that the Dragon Destiny Boxed set has now been delayed. It is being removed from the current release schedule and will reappear for release sometime next year. So for you folks that were holding out for the cheap boxed set, you'll need to buy the singles if you want to see the entire series this year.

The Bleach #6 Boxed Set has Not Been Delayed

Just an FYI to everyone asking about the rumors that the Bleach Uncut Boxed Set #6 (Eps #110-121) has been delayed. This is not true, the street date was this week and has not been changed, though Warner did ship them to retailers at the last minute.

We have the set IN STOCK and they are shipping now.

I think one of the smaller stores posted something about the street date being pushed back, but that is not the case and all retailers should have the sets in stock by now. Oh, also, in comparison to the previous 5 boxes, #6 is just a 3 tray standard size DVD case with a paper slip sleeve. Viz could not have chosen cheaper packaging, which didn't make us very happy.

Anyway, we have it, so order away! :-)

Toradora Premium Collection #2 - Now In Stock!

I'm very happy to report that our inventory of the 2nd Toradora Premium Collection has arrived and is now in stock and shipping!

We will begin filling pre-orders today, but we have accumulated A LOT so I'm guessing it will take until close of business tomorrow for us to get them all out. I've tasked about half to folks here to work on nothing except those until they are completed shipping.

The part #2 set contains episodes 14-25 on 2-discs and includes a full-color artbook (hardcover) and a premium collectors box.DVD extra's include Toradora! SOS! Hurray for Gourmands 3-4, plus Clean Opening & Clean Ending.

Part #2 Synopsis: Ryuji and Taiga slowly begin to understand their feelings not just towards their crushes, but what they mean to one another. After the Culture Festival comes to a close, Kitamura begins to display a rebellious attitude. To bring him around, Ryuji tells Taiga to run for Student Council President. Christmas pageants, complete with a beautiful song, come and go. During a school trip to a ski resort, Ryuji will learn the truth about Taiga's heart. What will he do with this knowledge? Darker Than Black Complete Collection - Fixed Sets Now In Stock!

We finally received the new fixed Darker Than Black DVD Collection from Funimation, and they are now shipping.

We have also sent out replacement disks (today) to everyone who previously received a set with the defective disk #3 and requested it be exchanged. Those should start arriving in your mailboxes by the end of the week! :-)

Code Geass R2 Vol #4 and Gundam 00 S2 Vol #1 In Route!

For those of you that have been a little worried that Bandai might end up bumping the date again for the Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 DVD Bundle #4 (Eps #20-25), I'm please to announce that our copies of both the regular and limited edition are now in route to us from Bandai's warehouse in sunny California and will be arriving on our dock shortly depending on the trucking company.

Both versions of Gundam 00 Season 2, Vol #1 DVD (Eps #1-7) and the new Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens Complete Collection DVD Box (Eps #1-14) are also coming along with the Code Geass sets.

So rest your heads comfortably tonight everyone, no more delays for these! :-)

Medicom Evangelion Unit 01 Meter Tall Figure - Now In Stock!

If you are crazy for really expensive but super cool Anime items, we have managed to lay our hands on several of the Evangelion Movie 1.01: You Are Not Alone EVA Unit 01 1/80 Scale Vinyl Statue from Medicom.

This 1+ Meter Tall Eva Unit 01 statue comes in packaging the size of a small refrigerator, and is of very high quality. Once our shipment of these cleared customs and got loaded on the truck carrier to come to us, they were so big they could only fit 4 on each pallet!

They are now in our warehouse and ready to ship to you.

An Italian fan has one and posted lots of great pictures of the figure on his blog here.

And don't worry, if you guys don't buy them all I'm going to unpack a couple and put them in our lobby! :-)

Hidamari Sketch Inventory Update

A lot of you are asking today if we have Hidamari Sketch back in stock. The answer is -no- not yet. Due to a little, um, SNAFU at Section 23 we did not get our entire initial shipment. In fact, we only got in 10% of the qnty we ordered, which all went to whatever pre-orders we could fill - so it came and went and we have been working with Section 23 for a couple of week to get in the rest of our shipment. Section 23 has now confirmed that the rest of the order is being sent out to us, so I'm hoping we'll finally have this title in stock deep by the end of the this week. We'll post on the updates page the day the rest of those copies hit the dock.

Nothing really unusual about this for a January except that so far it's only happened to one item. :-) Usually when this happens we are able to get more copies expedited in quickly, but this time there were no copies to be had right away, which is symptomatic of almost everyone's (except for us) desire these days not to actually keep any extra inventory of anything in stock. The rule now is that you order exactly the number of copies be produced that the retailers advance order - no more / no less, and then you re-order more later as needed based on sales performance only after an item or title has proven itself to be sales worthy. I'm seeing this sort of thing duplicated on other Anime retailers sites were they clearly want to maintain a huge catalog of 'item listings' without actually stocking the products behind those listings in their warehouse. Slower moving or low sell through items will be listed on those sites with availability markers like 'we'll get it for you' , meaning we don't stock that item, but we'll see if we can get it after you order it - and if not, too bad - or 'limited availability' , which means we 'might' have some stock left, but either way it's not worth trying to restock once our initial inventory is gone. After all, who can be bothered these days to keep their supply chain well organized to fill the customers needs? etc etc.

We're certainly not perfect, but we work very hard to have an Anime store site were every product behind that site is in stock all the time, and we just don't list a bunch of stuff that we either can't get, or has gone out of stock and won't be replaced. I think that's why our customers enjoy such good fill ratios on their orders, and that we rarely have backorders or stock outs or pre-orders that can't be filled, and that product stock outs here only represent some problem in the supply chain, not some policy decision being made about which products we want to bother to keep on hand.

Anyway, this has always been our thinking here, for better or worse, I suppose, and now you know. :-)

We managed to lay our hands on a couple of brand new cases of the out of print Witch Hunter Robin Anime Legends boxed sets.

These haven't been available from Bandai since last summer, so get em while they last!

Ponyo Japanese BluRay Release - Now In Stock and Available!

Attention collectors, we have something special for you today!

We've just received a batch of Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea BLURAY DVD's from Tokyo. This is the authentic Japanese BD release of Ponyo, and we have the first pressing of both the standard and limited edition versions available. The first pressing of these releases are completely sold out in Japan and come with a special Ponyo sticker book (see image below).

These BD's are Region Free and come complete with available English subtitles. We only have a few copies of each, so don't miss your chance!
