Top 50 Search Terms for August 2006

Steven DenBeste over at Chizumatic recently asked the question 'Why the hell are so many people over at Wikipedia looking at an article for a certain kind of Jellyfish?'

I always find it fascinating to watch how people use our site, and thought it would be fun to share our list with you. The following list contains the top 50 search terms that folks have plugged into the search feature of the store site in the past 30 days, along with the number of times that word has been searched:

This is about what I would expect, and gives you a good idea of what Anime fans are looking for on our site, but it's also fun to note that the word 'hentai' is the 5th most popular search term, and that people were looking for 'sex' about twice as often as a 'dvd boxed set', though only about 25% as often as 'Naruto'.

It's also interesting to note that we don't actually sell 'sex' - at least not as far I know... -_^

Note: There were 6,239 total terms searched on the Anime Corner Store during the month of August, 2006, and 96,714 different terms searched in the past year. We exclude any terms from our stats that are only searched once. The phrases virgin auction and sexy pictures of mizuho are included in these figures as they were both searched for 7 times in the past 30 days.
